Quality Care

Diagnostic Microbiology is the study of identification of disease causing microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, protozoans and fungi using microscopy, staining techniques, culture methods, biochemical tests and immunologic assays. A suitable sample is collected from the patient and processed by one or more of the above methods. Along with the identification of the organisms, their susceptibility to various antimicrobial agents is also tested for timely administration of the most appropriate antibiotics resulting in faster cures and prevention of resistance.

The Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Imperial Hospital is functional 24/7 and offers a wide range of diagnostic assays for a large number of infectious diseases. Our laboratory follows all the standard Quality Control norms to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
